Overview:
Thermal water in the Budapest area has been used at least since the ancient Roman times. The first modern open-air bath of Budapest, the Palatinus, opened on Margaret Island in 1921. At the time Palatinus had the largest pool in all of Europe. New indoor areas were created with the reconstruction: a cute pool for kids, one with thermal water for the adults, and some new saunas with an ice cold immersion pool. Boost up that circulation!
We loved this place - much more for locals than tourists (and hen/stag). We had excellent and great value massages, there are plenty lockers for your valuables, and for architecture fans it is a modernist gem. Plenty indoor and outdoor thermal action. Plenty af food and drink options and very reasonable. Would definitely visit again.

This is the only one place, of this type - thermal, spa and pool, where you can come with children. It is reasonable place to spend a few hours, and the prices are also reasonable! Nice and clean, it was so quite! They have two indoor pools - for adults and small one for kids, and two outdoors - the small one and olympic.

We are traveling with three young kids and everyone thoughts this was one of the greatest days of our vacations. We enjoyed everything from the food to the pools, even the lockers rooms are well managed. We used public transport to get there after parking our car on Margaret Island's parking lot.
