MEETING POINT: Parliament Visitor Center
We got on the early afternoon tour and had an English speaking guide. The moral of the story is don’t be put off by the official web site saying there are no tickets. There appeared to be lots on the day we were there. We had an English speaking guide with an English sense of humour so the whole tour which lasts about 45 minutes was both fun and informative. The building itself is magnificent from the outside and equally so on the inside. It’s a must do tour if you are in Budapest for a few days and it’s only about a 10 minute walk from the Chain Bridge.
The Parliament building is one of the most visited places and a reservation is required. It is worth it. The building is beautiful with some much history. We got lucky and got to see the military guard of the Crown Jewels change. Very impressive.
The visits starts from the visitor centre which is located on the right of the building when coming from the square. Please arrive in time as delayed entry is not permitted. The visit lasts about 50 minutes.
