It is a beautiful building from the outside, unfortunately we weren't able to visit inside since we had arrived 5 mins late and were not allowed in. We had arrived at the parliament building on the south side and since there are no directions to the entrance on the tickets or on the grounds we spent a good 10 mins trying to find it.
Thank you for your kind words!
The Hungarian Parliament Building is a magnificent, beautiful building overlooking the Danube River in Budapest. When in Budapest, you cannot miss this building. Its massive Neo-Gothic architecture and its magnitude will surely make an impression on you. It is one of the largest buildings in Hungary and one of the oldest of its kind in Europe. It was built in 1896 and boasts over 700 rooms and 11 miles of stairs and corridors, with 242 sculptures, both inside and outside, and 27 entrance gates!!! It is open for visitors to tour. You can purchase your tickets on line. The Parliament building is open every day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Don’t miss the central hall featuring the Hungarian Coronation Regalia, the precious artifacts including the Holy Crown of Hungary, the orb, the scepter, and a Renaissance-style sword. You can also see the changing of the guard ceremony that takes place every afternoon. The parliament is beautiful during the day, with the interior just as striking as outside. However, it becomes stunning when it’s all lit up at night. At sunset, the lights slowly come on and illuminate the building with an intensity to behold.
Thank you for making the time to write a review for us!
Had to pay double the price as my tickets were for eu citizens and we are non eu so double the price. Total paid to Headout company €80 which is extortion! The building is stunning inside and definitely worth a visit but don’t get ripped off like we did. Tour lasted about an hour max. Need passport to enter.
Thank you for your kind words!
