The best baths in Budapest. Not opulent like the touristy Geller, but real and charming. Excellent rooftop heated pool, excellent restaurant attached, but the highlight is the thermal baths datiing back to the Ottoman Empire and the 15th Century. The highlightis that Rudas are the only baths left that have "same sex" on the the thermal side where you can go nude with just an apron -I think Tuesday if woman only, with Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday being male only, with Saturdays and Sunday's mixed. The Pool and Wellness side of the baths are mixed everyday, and over Christmas Week, Christmas Eve and Day were mixed as well. The thermal baths are literally like stepping back into the past, especailly on the male only day. They strictly enforce an no under 14 policy on the thermal side, and that makes it relaxing any day of the week as far as I am concerned. The staff are well trained and friendly, and the prices are excellent compared to the bigger baths. I highly reccomend this place above the others for a true baths experience.

The thermal pools are stunningly beautiful, absolutely worth a visit. The only downside is the constant rudeness of people working there. We got addressed constantly in Hungarian with extremely poor manners. They don’t seem to like tourists.
Thank you so much for your kind review!
I've visited some thermal baths before in South Africa and in northern Spain, but this was to be a different experience as we wanted to try out the bath on the sun terrace at night in minus temps. It did not disappoint. The views are gorgeous. There are hot pools, cold pools, jacuzzi, the large swimming pool, showers, etc. - everything you would want in such a place. It's well organised and we had to queue to get in, although it was relatively late on a Saturday night. Great activity to do at the end of the day, to relax and get the body ready for a night on the town, visiting the famous Ruin Bars..
