Overview:
Relax and enjoy a wonderful day in the historical bath, Gellért Spa, decorated with the world-famous Zsolnay porcelain and mosaics that not only you will, but the Knights of St. John used to adore and to heal in the mineral rich thermal water pools.
It’s definietely worth visiting for the amazing interior, baths are truly beautiful. However if you are used to more comprehensive spa experience, you might be disappointed. It’s basically couple of baths with hot springs water and one or two steam rooms. Quality of service could be better as well.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
The building is beautiful and historic with lovely architecture. The spas are quite unique to Budapest so definitely go to get the full experience! Some top tips: Bring your own towel and flip flops. If in a couple, get one ticket with a locker and one with a cabin. We both got changed and left our belongings in the cabin, but paid for one rather than two which worked out cheaper. The cabins are like UK public swimming bath changing rooms. If you expect that, you won't be disappointed like some reviews seem to be! Bring a swimming cap if you intend to use the swimming pool. The church in the rock is just over the road, and Gellert hill is up above so you can visit a few sites whilst in the area.
