Overview:
Relax and enjoy a wonderful day in the historical bath, Gellért Spa, decorated with the world-famous Zsolnay porcelain and mosaics that not only you will, but the Knights of St. John used to adore and to heal in the mineral rich thermal water pools.
Pros: 1) jaw-dropping interior with Neo-classical design ; 2) large facility with numerous heated pools of varying temperatures( 36-40 C) as well as cold baths (12-14 C) and steam rooms; 3) clean and adequately maintained 4) we felt extremely relaxed after soaking for over an hour in the mineral waters-a unique Budapest experience; 5) they have an excellent electronic wrist band system for the lockers Cons: 1) quite expensive but you don't feel ripped off; 2) not easy to navigate- watch You tube videos before hand so you can find your way around; 3) staff display varying degrees of helpfulness ; 3) small lockers Tips: 1) entrance to the pools is at the side of the hotel- you can go into the hotel lobby just to the see the interior but you can't get into the pools from the lobby ; 2) bring your swimsuit, flip-flops, towel and bathing cap-otherwise prepare to pay! ;3) bathing cap is only needed for the main pool unless you are bald Overall- unique and memorable Budapest experience- not to be missed!
Thank you for making the time to write a review for us!
It was far too cold to try the outdoors pool but we were really happy with all the indoors pools and the helpfulness of the staff. Only downside was that you are requested to buy a cap for the pools, but you learn this right before diving which leads to going back to the cabin, getting money, going back, etc. Otherwise we are extremely happy and satisfied by our visit.
Thank you so much for your kind review!
Stunning building and a great inside to how people used to “take the waters” I especially loved the super hot baths. Don’t forget your flip flops.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
