Descripción:
Gellert Bath opened in 1918 offering medicinal water treatments using the same deep underground springs the Knights of St John used in the 12th century, and later on the Turks to feel the invigorating powers of the mineral rich waters. Sound good right? Than let's try it yourself and enjoy the thermal baths where you can easily spend a day, explore the numerous pools, get luxury treatments.
Important Information
- Your ticket is including a locker, where you can leave your valuables
- Please bring your own towels and slippers, at the spa they can not provide them
- If you like to use the swimming pool, please bring your own swimming cap
Of the two thermal baths we visited this was our favourite. There is less outdoor space than the other but the indoor thermal pools were beautiful. (The adventure pool was closed so there is more outdoor space than we saw) The mosaic decoration and general atmosphere made for a memorable experience. It was great to just float around and forget about life for a while. They seem to be doing some work on the outside areas and the hotel it is attached too, whilst architecturally beautiful, seems to be closed and falling into disrepair. I would recommend a visit, but don't forget your own towel and flip flops or you will have to buy them, and, if you want to swim in the swimming pool you will also need a swimming cap. If you forget yours they will happily sell you one.
Thank you so much for your kind review!
Several pools with different temperatures both inside and outside. Beautiful and impressive rooms. Little information and not very service minded staff so a bit difficult to find out how things work if you haven’t been in a place like that before. Don’t forget to bring towels and slippers besides your bathing suit (and swim cap if you want to go into the swimming pool).
Thank you so much for your reviews!
After reading the last couple of reviews we nearly did not go. So pleased we did as it was amazing. A stunning building with so much history and lots of thermal pools to try. Yes, it was a little tired in places but it is due to close for renovations on 24 June so they obviously know that and it is an ancient building so it is not going to be perfect. I was pleased we read the reviews as it meant we went prepared. We had brought our own swimsuits anyway as they are easy to pack. It said you needed flip-flops, we just wore our walking sandals which was fine, any flat sandals would do as long as you don't mind getting them wet, some people even wore the free hotel slippers which were acceptable. You also needed a towel, we checked at our hotel and they let us take them from there. If you want to swim in the large indoor pool you need a swimming cap, a lot of people just wore the free hotel bath hat. So as long as you go prepared there is no additional expense. Well worth, you can stay as long as you like, we had a very pleasant afternoon there.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
