Important Information
- Your ticket is including a locker, where you can leave your valuables
- Please bring your own towels and slippers, at the spa they can not provide them
- If you like to use the swimming pool, please bring your own swimming cap
This place is very historic and beautiful. The spa baths have individual changing rooms that can be locked. They have various temperature pools and the huge outdoor pool. During the winter it is great to go outside and soak in the healing waters while it’s snowing. Great for those with arthritis.
Thank you for making the time to write a review for us!
A thermal spa is part of the tourist experience while in Budapest. We chose to go to St. Gellert Spa, as we did not want to deal with the crowds of Széchenyi bath. From Deák Ferenc tér in District V, St. Gellert Spa is easily accessible by taking tram #47 or 49. You can get tickets for the tram via cash or card at the machines right by the track. Basically, there are a few pools indoors and outdoors. Indoors there are 5 thermal pools at various temperatures, 1 swimming pool and 2 saunas. Outdoors, there are 2 swimming pools. As other reviews stated, the signs are quite confusing and the staff are not very helpful nor friendly. The best thing you can do is look at the map and head in that general direction. I also found it quite strange that there were multiple security cameras in the ceiling visible from my private changing stall, which has a "net" at the top (see photo). I did not feel very comfortable with the cameras potentially recording me as I undressed. Besides the odd cameras, St. Gellert spa has nice architecture and history. We had a good time and are glad we went for the experience, but overall, it was quite underwhelming. ****TIPS**** 1. Buy tickets online in advance. This will get you fast track entry. 2. If you don't want to change in front of everyone, book a ticket with a "cabin" which is a private changing room that also serves as a locker. They allow you to share this cabin with others, so if you go with a small group, one person can book the ticket with a cabin and the others can book tickets with just entry. But BEWARE if you're assigned to a cabin with security cameras watching you get undressed! 3. Go early! We went around 9AM in December and it was not very crowded and there were no lines. 4. Bring your own water, towel, flip flops, robe (if you wish to go outside in the winter), and a plastic bag to put your wet stuff in.

Gellert Thermal bath and swimming pool. I went here with my hubby 'twas an awesome place to relax after all the long walking tour in the city. The temperature of the water in the spa was just just ok to soak your body in a cold afternoon. There was only one spa outside which wAs packed with people. Wish there should be 2 outside. Enjoyed the swimming pool even though the water was cold. I would recommend the place. It is not so open as the schenyi thermal bath. Got our entrance from get your guide so we escaped the que.
