Descripción:
Thermal water in the Budapest area has been used at least since the ancient Roman times. The first modern open-air bath of Budapest, the Palatinus, opened on Margaret Island in 1921. At the time Palatinus had the largest pool in all of Europe. New indoor areas were created with the reconstruction: a cute pool for kids, one with thermal water for the adults, and some new saunas with an ice cold immersion pool. Boost up that circulation!
Important Information
- Your ticket is including a locker, where you can leave your valuables
- Please bring your own towels and slippers, at the spa they can not provide them
- If you like to use the swimming pool, please bring your own swimming cap
A place we found from a "mistake" when we were walking on Margaret Island. It is not very famous, but it surprised us that it was very affordable and well maintained.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
I visited Rudas and Gallerth baths but my son was disappointed and he was not allowed in both of them. We cam to know about Palatinus Strand on Margaret Island and decided to try it out. And good thing that we did try it, first off rates are quite well priced, children are allowed, there is indoor and outdoor pool where they can accompany you, temperature of the pools was quite nice, didn't feel cold even though outside temperature was bit chilly, all in all a very good visit. Only downside was one of the attendants was very much rude in his behaviour but that maybe entirely upto language (we didn't know Hungarian and he didn't know English) Now this visit should take 3 hours max but Margaret Island is something you can spend whole day in, so I would highly recommend this over other baths if you have a family.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review for us!
Really good value. 2 thermal baths, wave pool, swimming pool, small water park. Better value than Szechenyi.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
