We visited on a tuesday which was women only for the thermal baths so visited the wellness centre instead. This has more than enough to do and entertained us for 3 hours. There is a thermal pool in the wellness centre, and a rooftop hot tub with views over the Danube which was beautiful by night, even in the rain.

The Rudas Bath is an almost 500 years old converted Turkish bath with a new wellness section and swimming pool. Keeping the old tradition, on weekdays (except for Tuesday which is for women) the traditional Turkish bath part is men only. Couples can go on weekends, when you can equally see the old walls, enjoy the hot and cold water, the sauna and or the steam bath, or have a massage inside, but on weekdays the atmosphere is completely different (for me it is better, and I suggest to male guests to go weekdays). The swimming pool and the wellness (especially the panorama-jacuzzi with view to the Danube, bridges and the Pest side) is very enjoyable as well, so for city breakers I would suggest to buy a combo ticket for all sections, which would cost around 20 EURs. My suggestion in the thermal to make three round of this: 1st go to the steam cabin for 10 minutes, then go to the cold (15 celsius) water in the back for a minute, than 2 minutes in the warm (42 celsius) then a few minutes in a milder pool (there are 3 of them), then 10 minutes in the body temperature water in the middle, under the cupola. After the 3 rounds of take a shower and take a 10-15 minutes rest in the silent room. You are just going to be reborn, and then if you go in the evening after a long walking day, you are going to fell asleep as soon as you go to bed in your hotel room, you will see. So do not miss Rudas if you come to Budapest!

It was one of the best experiences visiting budapest. The oldest bath in budapest and the only that provides in the old ottoman swimming pools separate days for men and women. Lots of swimming pools with different temperature, hammam baths, saunas and loved above all the exterior bath with 42 degress. Despite the freezing cold you could relax and see the bridge, the river and pest. Visited 2 times and loved it
